Technocom believes in giving back to the community
The Matthews Free Medical Clinic provides quality healthcare to low income, uninsured patients of Matthews, N.C. and the surrounding Mecklenburg and Union counties. The clinic relies on volunteers and paid staff members to carry out their mission. The clinic provides quality patient care, including the treatment of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, a clinic for women and a psychiatry clinic. The clinic is a nonprofit organization funded by grants, private donations and two annual fundraisers. An employee of Technocom resides on the board of directors for the clinic.
The clinic had received out dated copiers by donations that were costing both money and resources in service repairs, while not meeting the growing needs of the clinic. They needed the ability to scan patient files and lacked these necessary scanning resources. Amber Trace contacted Technocom and spoke to Jim Riggins, CEO. Jim has been a long time supporter of the clinic and understands the benefits the clinic provides to the community and immediately agreed to help.
Technocom donated a color printer and multifunction copier that provided the clinic the ability to scan, copy and print. Technocom has also provided scheduled IT support as an added in-kind donation to help the clinic move forward in the area of office technology.
As a result of the technology donations Technocom has provided to the clinic, the clinic was able to utilize the funds slated for technology purchases for daily operating expenses of the clinic, which has helped provide further care to members of our community.
Technocom believes in giving back to the community in which we live. As a locally owned company, it is important to the Technocom leadership team to give back. We believe in helping organizations like the Matthews Free Medical Clinic that are helping to provide the basic necessities of high-quality healthcare to the disadvantaged. We have supported the clinic through our office technology donation, in addition to attending their annual fundraising events, and consider it an honor and privilege to be a small part of such an important organization.
